Industrial Biotechnology (IB) programme is focusing on utilisation of renewable resources to produce fuels and chemicals using microorganisms and/or enzymes as catalysts. Screening microorganisms and enzymes from nature, improving them by protein engineering and metabolic engineering and developing cost-effective biocatalytic processes for industrial applications are our tasks.
